The winners of the BlueCity Circular Challenge September 2020, team Provincie Zuid-Holland, used a waste stream of duckweed (a small aquatic plant) to create duckweed tiles integrated with flower and plant seeds. These tiles can be used to replace concrete ones, thereby benefitting biodiversity, water and heat relief in the city.
